Mina Horiguchi is a media relations specialist who has spent the majority of her career on the other side of the microphone. Previously, she held planning, editing, and hosting duties on Chikyuu Radio, an NHK Radio Center program for 3 years. There, she identified slow growth amongst younger demographics and suggested new content for K-12 and Gen Z, growing the listener segment by more than 30%.

She was also programming developer and radio host at J-WAVE for 3 years. While at J-WAVE, she led content team ideation and execution covering a wide range of topics and trends. She also was selected and served as a bilingual reporter for Tokyo 2020.

Prior to J-WAVE, Mina led overall operations of TBS morning program Hayadoki as a sub-caster for 2 years, where she initiated social media PR initiatives. Through sharing behind the scenes content and encouraging cross-programming interaction, she contributed to increased fan engagement. Mina also performed media monitoring to find new ways to expand the range of coverage for new demographics, helping the program to achieve the No. 1 rating in the nation for that time slot.

Before her work in media, Mina began her career at Mitsubishi Corporation. During her 4 year tenure at Mitsubishi, Mina initiated a weekly, internal newsletter for 800+ employees to share knowledge and tips for retail businesses. She copy-wrote the newsletter to make it more engaging, writing original articles about new technologies such as AI and blockchain.

Mina is a graduate of The University of Tokyo’s Executive Management Program and holds a BA in International Political Science from Waseda University’s Faculty of Political Science and Economics. In her free time, Mina enjoys traveling overseas and is a Certified Wine Expert.
